About The Blog

Well, the whole point of this blog is to review new J-Pop releases from certain artists, namely the ones I listen to. Like many people, I decided to make this blog after spending quite a bit of time reading through many Japanese music review blogs. My reviews at the moment may not be of the best quality, and my grammar unit likes to shut down when I start writing for some damn reason, so please forgive any small mistakes you see. Or better yet, tell me about them so I can fix them. xD;;

After seeing a huge fault in my review system (mainly that it sucked in showing how I really felt about songs), I’ve decided to replace it with the tried-and-tested, yet overused, letter grading system, which will work out like this:

Grades
A: Highly recommended, listen ASAP.
B: Not as good, but it’s still great.
C: Starting to sound a bit more mediocre.
D: Only die-hard fans will get anything out of this.
F: Don’t listen to it. it’s not worth your time. Seriously.

I hate using such a generic grading system, but it works better than my last one did, so I might as well make the change. Of course, – means it’s leaning towards the grade below, + means towards the grade above. No mark means it’s perfect for that rating, A+ means it’s better than perfect, F- means DO NOT LISTEN. That should be a given, but still. These grades apply to the album overall, individual songs will still have their numbered scores.

Where Did I Get The Name?

PA-PA-PA-PA-PA-PA-PAFUUMU~ Any Perfume fan should easily recognise the blog title as one of the titles from their first album. By first, I mean the single collection, not GAME.

About Me

I’m 18, male, and I live in Australia. I’m in my last year of school, so I might be a bit inactive when the final exams come around. I’m into Japanese music, of course, as well as anime/manga, video games (Mainly RPG’s) and reading. I also write stories, but I won’t be putting any of that here… I’m always looking for new music, so I’ll accept recommendations or requests, but that doesn’t mean I’ll be reviewing them. It depends on how much I like them.

Interesting note, if you enter my username (Selryam) into an Al Bhed translator (I’m a Final Fantasy X/X-2 fanboy, sue me), you’ll get my actual name~ Spiffy, huh?
